My name is Jasmine Dettwiler, and I am an independent project manager with vast experience helping private companies and investors in the food & beverage industry operate internationally. My projects include expanding franchises to new locations, identifying investment opportunities in existing restaurants or coffee shops, and helping develop independent, site-specific endeavors. My specialty is in developing coffee shops and cafes, but I am also experienced in higher-end restaurants and food trucks.
I have always been passionate about working in the food and beverage industry, but never quite had the cooking capabilities needed to create my own culinary delights. I investigated other opportunities in the field that better incorporated my own skills in communication, organization, research, and innovation, and
ultimately became interested in the wide creative possibilities available in project management.
My experience in this field primarily developed during my time working at Danone, where I was responsible for the end-to-end leadership and execution of innovation and renovation projects across multiple F&B categories. I coordinated cross-functional projects consisting of both local and global teams and factories. My responsibilities included assessing project requests from across these teams and categories, providing feasibility implications, and facilitating critical project decisions with necessary stakeholders to ensure all project priorities were optimized. I also developed project dashboards and implementation plans, and managed all project communication.
After an extensive career at Danone, I decided to venture out on my own in order to pursue more creative and varied projects. I get great satisfaction from turning my clients' dreams to reality...and getting to sample international coffee and culinary delicacies doesn't hurt either!
I work on a freelance basis to develop, plan, and open restaurants, coffee shops, food trucks, pop-up shops, and other culinary endeavors around the world, working closely with my clients to see their vision through. I handle the management and development of each project from A to Z, including:
Researching and identifying existing investment opportunities throughout Europe, MENA, and South America, for example joining a partnership of a growing restaurant chain
Scouting locations and opportunities for new developments, for example a busy professional plaza that offers relevant traffic and thus profit for a coffee cart
Liaising with local authorities for approvals and permits
Hiring local contractors, builders, and employees
Finding and negotiating with relevant suppliers, manufacturers, chefs, brewers, etc.
Providing step-by-step updates with my clients as each milestone is achieved
Adhering to clear timelines and budgets for every project
